Hi, I'm Laura Gilbert. I minister in Argentina.
I have held many roles over my 18 years of service in Argentina, from assisting the director as his secretary to coordinating the English program at the primary and high school level. I´ve also served in the Dean´s office and always loved counseling students as well as caring for the single missionary ladies. For the past year, I have been serving in the Admissions office, communicating and processing the registration of students in the online program and campers. I am also active coordinating aspects of the children´s ministry at our church in Buenos Aires.

I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home, where my parents were faithful to serve God through our local church. However, I was not saved until the age of fourteen when our new pastor explained that salvation is not through church membership or baptism, but through Christ alone. When I went to college I found that having never been discipled, I was not ready to confront the teaching of a non-Biblical worldview, nor face its lifestyle and my walk with the Lord was weakened in both ways. By God's grace, while on a study abroad program in Ecuador, I met missionaries from WOL who shared about the BI in Argentina. Upon graduation from college in 1998, I studied there on and off for three years, restoring my relationship with Christ and strengthening my commitment to Him and His call on my life. In 2002, when I returned to Argentina, committed to stay and serve with WOL, Javier and I met. We were married the following year, and God has given us the enormous gift of three beautiful children: Lucas (02/13/06), Hannah (02/10/08) and Rebekah (10/22/10). I pray for wisdom to raise them to know, love and serve the Lord. Since August 2023, Javier is no longer a missionary nor with our family, but we thank God we have been able to continue to serve God faithfully even in the midst of a difficult time. Lucas is a sophomore at William and Mary in the States and the girls and I continue to serve here in Argentina, through Word of Life and our church.
