Ministry Description

In Buenos Aires, Argentina, I will serve with Word of Life as part of the Bilingual Bible Program (BBP), a unique discipleship ministry designed for international young adults. This program is built on three foundational pillars: deepening faith, developing Spanish, and discovering calling. Through these, students are equipped not only for spiritual growth but also for global impact as followers of Christ.

My primary role will be to mentor young women as they navigate the challenges of living and learning in a cross-cultural environment. This includes guiding them through language barriers, cultural adjustments, and—most importantly—the life-changing truths of the gospel. By God’s grace, I am able to use my fluency in German, Spanish, and English to build meaningful connections, foster understanding, and bridge cultural and linguistic divides among the diverse group of young adults I serve.

Additionally, God has placed a deep burden on my heart for the needs of orphans. I am prayerfully exploring ways to integrate this passion into my ministry, seeking opportunities to bring the love of Christ to vulnerable children who need hope and healing.

At the core of this ministry is a desire to make Christ known, to disciple others in their faith journey, and to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel. In every conversation, every challenge, and every opportunity, my prayer is that God’s name will be glorified, and His kingdom will advance in Argentina and beyond.

About Lina

My journey of faith has been deeply influenced by God’s relentless pursuit of my heart and the unique cross-cultural background He’s given me. Growing up with a Korean mother and a German father in Spain, I was exposed to a variety of cultures, perspectives, and languages from an early age. Our family’s frequent travels gave me a deep curiosity about the world and a love for connecting with people from different backgrounds. However, it wasn’t until I was exposed to the Word of God that I realized the ultimate purpose for these gifts: to share the gospel with the nations.

Though I accepted Jesus as my Savior at a young age, my understanding of Him was shallow. As I grew older, I struggled with doubts and searched for fulfillment in the world, only to be left empty. At the age of 16, the truth of the gospel finally took root in my heart. I understood that salvation is a gift of grace—God’s unearned love and favor—not because of anything I had done. Faced with the depth of His love, I surrendered my life to Christ. From that moment, my life began to center on His Word, which gave me clarity and purpose.

Later, I had the privilege of studying at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida and New York. During those two years, I was immersed in Scripture and learned about God’s heart for the nations. I realized that He calls us to be good stewards of the gifts and experiences He’s given us and to take part in His mission to make disciples of all nations. It was during this time that I felt a deep conviction to dedicate my life to serving Him through missions.

Over the years, my love for cross-cultural ministry has grown. My upbringing, my time in the Word, and my passion for seeing lives transformed by Christ all led me to pursue missions in Argentina. While my Latin church community and mentors from Argentina initially sparked my interest in the country, my calling to missions comes from God’s heart for the nations and my desire to be faithful to His call. When I visited Argentina on a mission trip in the spring of 2024, my heart was moved with compassion for the people, and I saw the potential to serve young women and bridge cultural gaps with the hope of the gospel.

Living in South Korea has further solidified my reliance on God and my trust in His plans. Experiencing what it’s like to navigate a culture and language so different from my own has given me deeper empathy and an even stronger desire to serve others.

Ultimately, my passion for missions flows from the grace of God in my life. It is Christ’s love displayed on the cross that changed everything for me and it is that same love which now compels me to go and serve others. I don’t have all the answers, but I trust the One who does. To Him alone be all the glory!

Psalm 63:3-8 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.
