Hi, I'm Lina Schumacher. I minister in Argentina.
After graduating from my second year at Word of Life Bible Institute in the summer of 2024, I had the unexpected and beautiful opportunity to serve with Word of Life South Korea for around a year. Since, I had the privilege to visit and collaborate with the ministry in Vietnam, India, and Taiwan. It was a season of growth, and a time of refining and learning. Now I am continuing my studies in Theology and Pedagogy in my birth country Germany as I finish raising support and prepare for my next season of serving in Argentina.
In Buenos Aires, Argentina, I will serve with Word of Life as part of the Bilingual Bible Program (BBP), a unique discipleship ministry designed for international young adults. This program is built on three foundational pillars: deepening faith, developing Spanish, and discovering calling. Through these, students are equipped not only for spiritual growth but also for global impact as followers of Christ.
My primary role will be to mentor young women as they navigate the challenges of living and learning in a cross-cultural environment. This includes guiding them through language barriers, cultural adjustments, and, most importantly, the life-changing truths of the gospel. By God’s grace, I am able to use my fluency in German, Spanish, and English to build meaningful connections, foster understanding, and bridge cultural and linguistic divides among the diverse group of young adults I serve.
Additionally, God has placed a deep burden on my heart for the needs of orphans. I am prayerfully exploring ways to integrate this deep passion into my ministry, seeking opportunities to bring the love of Christ to vulnerable children who need hope and healing.
At the core of this ministry is a desire to make Christ known, to disciple others in their faith journey, and to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel. In every conversation, every challenge, and every opportunity, my prayer is that God’s name will be glorified, and His kingdom will advance in Argentina and beyond.
God has shown me that none of my experiences, my multicultural upbringing, my love for language, or my creative passions, are accidents. He’s using them all. And wherever He sends me, whether it’s Korea, Vietnam, Argentina or beyond, I want to be faithful: to love people deeply, to make disciples intentionally, and to keep proclaiming the beautiful, redeeming love of Jesus!

I was born in Germany and raised in Spain, in a family shaped by many cultures. With a Korean mother and a German father, I grew up speaking multiple languages and switching between cultures without really understanding why my life was so… different. It felt like I didn’t quite belong anywhere, and though I loved people and languages, I had no idea what any of it was for.
I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was young, but as I grew older, I started to doubt. I knew about God, but I didn’t really love Him. My heart was restless, I kept searching for value, identity, and purpose in the things around me. I was tired of trying to be good enough, of feeling like I had to earn love, like I had to prove I was worth something. No matter how hard I tried, I still felt empty.
But at the age of sixteen, everything changed.
That’s when the truth of the gospel truly broke through: that God wasn’t asking me to fix myself, He was offering me grace. I started grasping what being saved by grace through faith means. Jesus lived the life I couldn’t live and died the death that I deserved so that I could have new life like Him who rose from the dead ultimately defeating sin and death. I surrendered my life to Him, and from that moment, everything began to shift.
The Word of God became my anchor. I found a peace and identity in Jesus that I had been chasing for years, and I began to see that all the pieces of my life, even the confusing ones, had a purpose. My multicultural background, my love for languages, my ache to connect across borders - none of it was random. God had created me with intention, and I wanted to give each gift back to Him.
That desire led me to study at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida and New York. Those two years deepened my walk with God immensely and opened my eyes to His heart for the world. I saw how He could use ordinary people, like me, to bring His extraordinary love to those who are hurting, doubting, and lost.
I don’t know exactly where He’ll take me next, but I know who I belong to. My life is His. And wherever He places me, I want to love Him fully and share the living hope I’ve found in Jesus.
There is nothing more beautiful than walking with Him, and nothing I’d rather do with my life than help others find the same love and freedom in Christ that set me free.
