Hi, I'm Lina Schumacher. I minister in Argentina.
At Word of Life South Korea, I have the privilege of serving in a ministry dedicated to sharing the life-changing message of the gospel. Through weekly Bible Clubs at local middle and high schools, we introduce students to the hope found in Jesus Christ. Each week, we engage them with worship, games, scripture memorization, skits, and thoughtful discussions, all with the aim of pointing them to Christ.
In addition to this, I serve at SYME, an English school program where Korean students not only learn English but are also immersed in God’s Word. Every day begins with devotionals, where both students and teachers share reflections from personal Bible study. We memorize scripture together, attend daily chapel, and study the Bible as part of the curriculum. This environment fosters genuine discipleship, giving us opportunities to walk alongside the students as they grow in their faith and develop deeper relationships with Christ.
One of the greatest blessings of this ministry is the opportunity to build personal relationships with the students, allowing the gospel to be shared not just through words, but through life. Watching these young men and women take their next steps in their walk with Jesus is a humbling reminder of the power and grace of God at work. It’s a joy to witness His transformative work in their hearts.

My journey of faith has always been deeply connected to my family’s heritage and God’s faithful pursuit of my heart. My grandparents were missionaries from South Korea to Germany, where my parents met, and it was through their legacy that my faith journey began. Though I never had the chance to meet my grandfather, who passed away from cancer, I feel blessed to honor his legacy by now serving in South Korea, his homeland. From a young age, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, but as I grew older, doubts crept in, and I searched for answers outside of my faith. The more I searched outside of God, the emptier I felt—until I realized that nothing in this world could fill the void inside me.
In His grace, God pursued me even in my wandering. At the age of 16 at a Word of Life camp in Spain, the gospel I had always known in my head finally touched my heart. In that moment, I surrendered my life completely to Christ, and everything changed. I began to see God’s Word not just as truth but as the foundation for my life. Every day, I’m grateful for the ways God has transformed me and shown me the purpose only He can provide.
That journey of transformation led me to the Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida and New York, where I spent two life-changing years growing deeper in my understanding of who God is and how I can serve Him. It was there that I realized my true calling: to dedicate my life to sharing the gospel—the message of hope that saved me—with others. Nothing brings me greater joy than helping others experience the same light and freedom in Christ that I have found.
Now, I have the incredible privilege of serving in South Korea with Word of Life, where I work through Bible Clubs and the SYME program, sharing the good news and discipling students. My heart is full of gratitude for the opportunity to see lives changed by the power of the gospel and to walk alongside students as they take their next steps with Jesus.
I don’t have all the answers, and I am far from perfect, but I am in awe of the God who gives my life meaning and direction. He found me when I was lost, and now I live for Him alone. To Him be all the glory—forever and ever!
