Hi, I'm Lauren LaRue. I minister in the United States.
Our mission at the Center for Biblical Counseling (CBC) is to provide a private and safe environment for students and staff to sort out difficult life issues and help them make godly decisions that contribute to their spiritual growth (Col. 1:28-29). It is the goal of the Center for Biblical Counseling to bring glory to God through the application of Scriptures to hurting people in need of change; not just any change but change that produces Christ-likeness. Most of my responsibilities that I get to do on a daily basis have to do with counseling students using the Word of God.

I was born in Pennsylvania into a family who loves the Lord and though I “prayed the prayer” when I was young, I don’t think I understood the Gospel at that point. When I was 11, my mom explained the abundant grace of God to me, which I finally understood as a personal relationship for the very first time.
For many years, I took God for granted in my life. When I was in high school, I was forced to face my sin in a way that I hadn’t even realized was in me before. I still thought I was the “good kid” and I was good at hiding my flaws. I was living in fear of my sin being found out by the people in my life, but I didn’t fear God. Eventually, when I was found out, God showed His grace to me through the response of my godly parents.
After high school, I decided to go to the Word of Life Bible Institute in the New York Adirondacks because I wanted a stronger foundation for my faith before heading into a secular environment to study for the job I desired.
In the fall of 2021, I dedicated my life to Christ at the Bible Institute. My purpose was to surrender my dreams and resources and life to the Lord, to live for His glory! “All I am, all I have, and all I ever hope to be, I now and forever dedicate to the Lord Jesus Christ for His use and glory, absolutely, unconditionally, now and forever.”
Over my two years at the BI, the Lord has convinced me that His ways are higher than mine, though I am definitely still growing in my implementation of these truths in my own life.
He revealed that my passions to know & share the Word and to care for people can be combined in biblical counseling, which is essentially intensive discipleship— helping people get to know God on a deeper level. So, He redirected my plans (again!) to aspire towards training in Biblical counseling to learn how to connect people to Christ, even amidst their sin and suffering.
My life is His, so here we go for wherever He takes me! God’s progressive work in my heart and how He’s continually shaping my affections is painful and scary even, but it’s exciting to me.
