Hi, I'm Nathan Brookhart. I minister in the United States.
My job is to serve with and disciple those on our worship arts teams. This means serving alongside my director Ryan, and getting to lead all of our students to worship the Lord, through music, because He is worthy! It is much more than doing things onstage, but it is also getting to help with all of the behind the scenes tasks to prepare for those services, and even get to travel with the teams that may go out on ministry to churches, both local and not.
Learn more about the ministry in the United States.
I grew up with parents and grandparents who knew and love the Lord. I grew up in the church every Sunday and Wednesday, and I was there just about whenever the doors were opened. Around the age of 4 or 5, I received Jesus when my parents shared the gospel with me and led me in the sinners prayer. Throughout Middle and High School, it became very apparent that my faith was not my own. Just because I went to church on Sundays and Wednesdays by no means meant that I was living for the Lord. I was very much living for myself, seeking what felt good, saying whatever I wanted to say, and many other things, but through the influence of faithful counselors at the Word of Life Island, some of whom I am still friends with to this day, God began to expose the dark areas of my life, and began to change me from the inside out. Year after year, I would go forward to throw a stick in the fire because there was another part of my life that God would expose as not fully surrendered to him. I wanted to do a bunch of different things after high school. I really wanted to be an engineer, but God said that he had better plans for me. Then I wanted to be a pilot, but God said he had better plans for me. Eventually, I decided to give God one year of my life, and came to the Bible Institute to study His word for a full year. I said I would only be here for one year, but then through getting to learn grow and serve, it became apparent He wanted me to come back. Second year at the Bible Institute continued to grow and shape my life, and I got to again serve on one of the Worship Arts ministry teams. It was then, and through my Missions Reality to Australia that God truly began to show me that I needed to live a life in ministry. I began praying, and God opened the door for me to come back as an intern for ministry with our Worship Arts teams, and that's where I am right now!
