Ministry Description

I am Rod Whitney, the Word of Life Missionary in Western NY and North Western PA.

My wife, Jamie and I have a passion of reaching students and children through evangelism, discipleship, and leadership training. Our goal is to work alongside local churches to develop vibrant youth ministries.

About Rod

I was saved at the age of nine after the Gospel was presented in my home church in Conklin, NY. It was there that I also met Jamie, my high school sweetheart. While active in our local church, God called us to the Gospel ministry. As a young pastor in WNY, we started WOL Bible Clubs to disciple our young people, bringing students to WOL Island for Camp every year. Since coming on staff in 1989, we now help churches throughout Western NY and North Western PA by coming alongside churches to reach more youth. We love the Lord Jesus and testify that youth leaders and Pastors of Local Churches are our heroes as what they do matters much!

About Jamie

At the age of eight I realized my need of a Savior. During my teen years I committed my life to Christ, knowing that God's hand was on me for future service. As a couple, God has given us many wonderful opportunities to serve Him. I love the Lord and I enjoy working alongside Rod in the ministry.

We have three adult children, Benjamin, Rachel and Christie.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
