The Suárez Missionary Family

We are Steve and Fabiola Suárez, together with our children, Jonathan, age 12, and Jafia, age 4. We serve as a missionary family with Word of Life Bolivia, convinced that God has called us to devote our lives to reaching and equipping the next generation.

Our missionary journey began in Spain. At that time, Steve was working as a marketing manager for a well-known company. However, God placed in our hearts the desire to leave behind the comforts of that life and prepare for ministry at the Word of Life Bible Institute. Beginning in 2008, we served as ministry partners with Word of Life Spain, and in 2013, we officially joined the missionary team in Bolivia.

Steve currently serves as the National Director of Local Church Ministries (LCM) in Bolivia. He travels throughout the country, training leaders, strengthening ministries, and connecting churches with the vision of Word of Life: helping every young person take their next step with Jesus. He also teaches Leadership, Biblical Geography, Old Testament Survey, and Historical Books, and serves as an associate pastor at a local church in Cochabamba.

Fabiola is an essential part of our ministry. In addition to serving alongside Steve and supporting our family’s missionary work, she counsels and mentors female students at the Bible Institute and CCM. God has also entrusted her with the delicate ministry of walking alongside women who have experienced sexual abuse, helping them find hope, healing, and restoration through the truth of God’s Word.

Jonathan and Jafia are also part of this calling. They are growing up in the midst of ministry and learning that serving the Lord wholeheartedly is a privilege.

About Steve

I was born into a family with a Catholic tradition, and I am the oldest of four brothers. Although I had heard about God, it was at the age of 12 that I understood my need to personally receive Jesus Christ as my Savior.

During a Word of Life camp, the message of the gospel deeply impacted my heart. On the night of the campfire, I placed my faith in Christ and surrendered my life to Him. That same night, I told the Lord that I wanted to serve Him, no matter where He led me or what the cost might be. I was only a child, but God took that decision seriously.

As the years passed, while I was studying Business Administration in Barcelona, Spain, God began stirring my heart again and reminded me of the commitment I had made when I was 12. In the midst of my studies and the professional opportunities before me, I clearly understood that He was calling me to serve Him full-time.

Looking back, I can confidently say that God has been faithful through every season. We are convinced that He called us to serve with Word of Life because of the profound impact this ministry has on young people—clearly presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their relationship with Him.

The decision I made by a campfire when I was 12 years old shaped the course of my entire life. Today, I continue to answer that same calling: “Lord, here I am; I want to serve You with all that I am.”

About Fabiola

I was born into a family that did not know Christ personally, and I am the youngest of three sisters. At the age of 18, I moved to Spain, never imagining that God would forever change the course of my life there.

It was in Spain that I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior. God used Crystal Tarasiuk in a special way as my counselor and friend, guiding me through my first steps of faith. Soon afterward, I began serving the Lord in my local church and as a counselor at Word of Life camps in Spain. There, God placed in my heart a desire to listen to, walk alongside, and help others through His Word.

In 2008, I met Steve. One of the things that impacted me most was seeing his love for Jesus Christ and his desire to serve Him. We were married in 2010 and, as a couple, decided to dedicate our lives to serving the Lord full-time.

Today, God gives me the opportunity to counsel and mentor young women and adult women, including some who have endured the painful experience of sexual abuse. It is a delicate ministry, but also a privilege to walk alongside them as they find hope, healing, and restoration in Christ and through the truth of His Word.

God has also blessed us with Jonathan and Jafia. They are an essential part of our family and ministry. Our desire is for them to grow in their love for the Lord, develop a faith of their own, and understand that serving God with their whole lives is a wonderful privilege.

As a family, we are confident that God desires to continue using us for His glory. We invite you to join us in this calling through your prayers and, if God places it on your heart, through your financial support. Together, we can continue sharing the gospel, walking alongside others, and serving the next generation.
