Hi, I'm Tara Avery. I minister in Argentina.
I am serving at Palabra de Vida Argentina in a couple of different ministries. The main two ministries that I am a part of are the ECM English Program where I teach English to kids and the Bilingual Bible Program where I help as the academic assistant and also disciple some of the girl students. I also help occasionally with the Local Church Ministry and any other events or special things that happen on campus or in the surrounding communities.
As I teach English in the school, I am not only helping the students to learn a language, but also have the opportunity to love them, serve them, and share Jesus/the Gospel with them! It has been such a joy to teach and serve in the English Program. When I am not teaching English in the school, I help with the Bilingual Bible Program (BBP). The BBP consists of students from non-Spanish-speaking countries who want to come to Argentina to learn Spanish and to learn more about the Bible. Because I am from the USA and many of the BBP students are also from the USA or other English speaking countries, I have been able to help them as they adapt to a new country/culture and to disciple some of the girls within the program. I am also serving as the academic assistant and do a lot of coordinating between our visiting professors, our students, and all of their classes and assignments. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to not only teach children in the elementary school but to also pour into other young adults as they grow in their faith. These are the main ministries I am a part of currently, but I also love being able to serve in any capacity I can and helping every person take their next step with Jesus.

I grew up in a home that loved the Lord and was very dedicated to Him, and I am so thankful for that! At the age of seven, I made the decision to accept Christ's salvation for myself and give Him my heart and my life. As I grew older, I encountered sin and difficulty in various ways but was always brought back to the truth of the Gospel and God's plan and desire for my life. In 2022 I decided to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute in order to further my relationship with God and my understanding of the Bible. I spent two years in-depth studying the Bible and also growing in my personal walk with Christ through discipleship, chapels, and a variety of ministry opportunities. This led me to the end of my second year at the Bible Institute, when I attended a missions conference and then went on a missions trip to Argentina. During that time I felt God change my ideas and plans for my future and felt Him calling me to be part of Word of Life's Cross-Cultural Internship in Argentina. I have always loved people, specifically children - young adults, and going to Argentina will allow me to serve God and others in a way that uses my gifts/talents and my passions! I am very excited for this next season in my life and to see all that God does in and through it.
