Hi, I'm Tara Avery. I minister in Argentina.
I am going to Argentina to teach English at Palabra De Vida's Christian School and to assist with their Bilingual Bible Program for college students. While I am there I will also be finishing my degree, which focuses on education and next-gen ministries. As I teach English in the school, I will not only be helping the students with their education but it will also allow me to share the Gospel with them! When I am not teaching in the school, I will be helping with the Bilingual Bible Program (BBP). The BBP consists of students from non-Spanish-speaking countries who want to come to Argentina to learn Spanish and to learn more about the Bible. Because I am from the USA and many of the BBP students are also from the USA, I will be able to help them as they adapt to a new country/culture and to disciple the girls within the program. I am very excited for the opportunity I have to not only teach children in the elementary school but to also pour into other young adults as they grow in their faith. These are the main things I will be assisting with while in Argentina, but I also look forward to serving in any capacity I can and helping every person take their next step with Jesus.
Learn more about the ministry in Argentina.
I grew up in a home that loved the Lord and was very dedicated to Him, and I am so thankful for that! At the age of seven, I made the decision to accept Christ's salvation for myself and give Him my heart and my life. As I grew older, I encountered sin and difficulty in various ways but was always brought back to the truth of the Gospel and God's plan and desire for my life. In 2022 I decided to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute in order to further my relationship with God and my understanding of the Bible. I spent two years in-depth studying the Bible and also growing in my personal walk with Christ through discipleship, chapels, and a variety of ministry opportunities. This led me to the end of my second year at the Bible Institute, when I attended a missions conference and then went on a missions trip to Argentina. During that time I felt God change my ideas and plans for my future and felt Him calling me to be part of Word of Life's Cross-Cultural Internship in Argentina. I have always loved people, specifically children - young adults, and going to Argentina will allow me to serve God and others in a way that uses my gifts/talents and my passions! I am very excited for this next season in my life and to see all that God does in and through it.
