Ministry Description

As a Biblical counseling intern, I serve in the Center for Biblical Counseling on the WOL campus. I'm currently enrolled in counseling-related classes, and I have the opportunity as an intern to observe and engage in counseling sessions. I also lead a discipleship group on campus that I meet with weekly. My day-to-day consists of classes in the morning, counseling observations in the afternoon, and discipleship in the evenings, as well as meetings with mentors on alternating weeks.

About Timothy

I was born into a Christian family in Lexington, NC. However, my family did not practice their Christianity. We did not attend church, and what I came to know about Jesus came through bits and pieces. I grew to accept the existence of God, even acknowledging that He is the God of the Bible, but I had not placed my faith in my Lord Jesus. As I grew older, the intentional, honest good behavior I practiced became a shell around me. A good example on the outside, while my heart grew more wicked and my sin festered in private. At the age of fourteen, I was invited to a youth group by some friends of mine, and shortly after, at the age of fifteen, I came to accept Jesus as my Lord and dedicate my life to Him. Since then, I have strived to seek the Lord's will and plan for my life, and that has led me to Word of Life Bible Institute. I came here to become an effective minister and to learn the Word of God to disciple others, and the Lord has seen fit so far to bless my endeavors and has led me to where I am as a Biblical counseling intern at Word of Life.
