Ministry Description

My role in Legacy will consist of many tasks, but my main task will be to play the bass guitar in the band. Our team will travel to a church/school/camp/event and start the process of setting up our band equipment. After all of our equipment is set up, one of many things will happen. We could be performing some skits, or one of the guys will give a message, we will be playing some games, getting to know the people we are serving, or we will be playing some songs. Other days, my team and I will spend long car rides headed to our next location. While I am new to the team, I am excited to learn many new skills and grow already existing ones.

About

When I was 3 years old, my mom was helping me memorize the books of the Bible. Somehow, she turned that into a Gospel conversation, and I realized that I was a sinner headed to Hell. She then went on to say that God loved me so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sin, and three days later, He rose from the dead, defeating death and sin forever. My mom told me that all I had to do was admit that I was a sinner, and all that I needed to do was believe that Jesus' sacrifice was enough to save me from the eternal consequences of my sin, and ask Him to rule in my life. That's just what I did. I didn't take my relationship with Jesus very seriously until I was over halfway through my Freshman Year at the Word of Life Bible Institute. I was a good kid, but I was living more how I wanted to live. While it hasn't been all sunshine and roses, God has been gracious and loving to me, even when I didn't deserve it.
My life has been full of crazy adventures that God has brought me on. I have had the amazing and eye-opening opportunity to go on multiple mission trips all around the world. I have also gotten to learn how to play multiple instruments and grow in musical ability over my whole life. God has allowed all of this in my life to prepare me for the adventure He is about to take me on. This year, I have the AWESOME opportunity (dream come true) to serve on the Word of Life Legacy team! The team is made up of Word of Life alumni who work together to perform songs, to open doors that lead to sharing the Gospel, and to encourage those they come in contact with to take their next step in their relationship with God.
I don't know all that this year holds, but I know that I can trust the Author who is writing my story with the pen. He has a plan just for me, and I can trust Him.

Deuteronomy 31:8 says "It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” This verse means that God is always before me and that He will never fail me. In the crazy adventures that He has placed me in, this verse has a promise that I can and do hold onto dearly.
