Hi, we're David and Earlene Livingston. We minister in the United States.
My name is David Livingston, Word of Life Local Church Missionary and Regional Coordinator for the Piedmont Region, which currently serves approximately 65 churches in Virginia, North and South Carolina.
Our goal is to help local churches develop vibrant youth ministries through evangelism, discipleship and leadership development. Our greatest joy is seeing adults in the local church become more effective as true disciplers of youth. We believe that students need godly examples to follow, and we are committed to the principles of Philippians 3:17. "Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example."

I came to faith in Jesus Christ in my college days, after seeking truth through the Word of God and "finding" my way to Romans 10:9-10. I still remember thinking, "That's how you become a Christian!" as I sat in a run-down motel room in New Market, VA the summer of my sophomore year. After marrying and starting a family, I committed to work within our local church and immediately had a desire to see believers grow and change. When a Word of Life missionary introduced our church to the Student Ministry program, for the first time I learned what biblical discipleship is all about. After seven years of discipling teens in that ministry, my wife, Earlene, and I answered the clear calling of God to candidate with Word of Life and help reach the youth of America through the local church. We have served with Local Church ministries in a full time capacity since June of 2003 and love what we do.
I accepted Christ as Savior when I was only eight years old, having enjoyed the privilege of being raised in a committed Christian home. Introduced to Word of Life Teen Clubs (now called Student Ministry) in our local church, I found out how passionate I am about discipling teen girls. The years I served as a small group leader were a time of accelerated spiritual growth for me, and I want to see that same growth in other students and leaders. I am passionate about knowing Him and coaching other ladies and teens to seek Him by reading, memorizing, meditating on and studying Scripture. Growing in our relationship with Jesus doesn’t just happen; we have to be intentional.
We have 3 wonderful daughters who are married to their best friends—one who lives near us in NC, another in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and the third who lives in Los Angeles, CA. We also have 7 awesome grandchildren.
