Ministry Description

Word of Life first began in Poland shortly after the fall of the Communist Occupation of Poland in 1989, and Tim Good is currently the director of this exciting ministry. Year-round, our team is heavily involved in a variety of ministries, including Local Church Ministries (LCM), English4Life (E4L), summer and winter camps, and so much more!

Local Church Ministries:
Our missionaries are actively training and supporting youth ministries in around 12 different churches around Poland through regular translation of new materials and organization of special events such as Bible Quizzes, Leadership Training, Conferences, etc. Twice per year we also organize evangelistic youth events which our team personally facilitates in each of these churches. Our main goal is to support these youth leaders and give them the resources they need to reach their teens for Christ, disciple them, and equip them to share the Gospel with their peers!

English4Life:
In 2019, WOL Poland started the first English4Life school (also known as S.Y.M.E.) in Europe. English4Life is a residential English-immersion program for post-high school students. The school year is comprised of three, 8-week terms, during which students are immersed in the English language, but more importantly, in the Bible! Each term, volunteers come from the U.S. and Canada to teach English and the Bible. English4Life is full of opportunities for evangelism and discipleship. God is truly growing this ministry, and currently, our ministry opportunities with English have expanded to online and in-person English Cafes and local schools.

Camp Ministry:
During the summer, we host Sports Camp, English Camp (LevelUp) and Family Camp, as well as multiple evangelistic events such as Open Pool Days and concerts. Our full-time staff serves alongside 30+ teens and young adults who make up the Camp Crew. Every year, hundreds of teens attend our camps and hear the Gospel for the very first time! At the heart of camp ministry is evangelism, although it often leads to lasting relationships and true life-on-life discipleship.

The ministry at Word of Life Poland is rapidly expanding and we are just trying to keep up with it! The biggest hurdle we currently face is the need for more missionaries to continue the ministries we are already involved in and to further develop them as tools the Lord can use for His glory.

Country Description

A nation with a rich cultural heritage, Poland can trace its roots back over 1,000 years. Positioned at the center of eastern Europe, it is bordered by seven countries! Poland is slightly smaller than the state of New Mexico but is home to around 38 million people, and more recently, the home to millions of Ukrainian refugees fleeing from the full-scale war in their home country. Around 85% of the Polish population is Roman Catholic, leading to a highly religious majority, caught in the trap of "works salvation." In contrast, the younger generation is currently more open to the Gospel than ever before. They are seeking truth and looking for answers to life's questions.
