Ministry Description

Word of Life first began in Poland shortly after the fall of the Communist Occupation of Poland in 1989, and Tim Good is currently the director of this great work. Right now we are heavily involved with the Club ministry, and have more clubs than any European country that Word of Life is in. We are excited to see what God is doing in the lives of teenagers and to see how we can be training youth leaders all over Poland. We have conferences throughout the year as well as travel to these Bible clubs periodically in order to give them as much help as we can with their youth group. We are really pleased with the way that God has been blessing this ministry and pray for much more in the future. We are also involved in camps, and this ministry is growing as well. We have a camp called Missions Camp where we bring an American group over and they work alongside Polish teens and leaders as we go out on the streets with Open Air Evangelism. This is a big blessing for all who take part. In fact, the biggest blessing is the excitement for evangelism that goes back to all the homes and churches where these youth are involved. Right now we have a lot of opportunities to start new Clubs and with God's help, we will do that this year. The ministry is expanding and we are just trying to keep up with it. The biggest problem is trying to keep enough staff to keep up with all the needs. Poland is definitely a place where there is much more ministry and we need prayer for help.

Country Description

A nation with a proud cultural heritage, Poland can trace its roots back over 1,000 years. Positioned at the center of Europe, bordered by seven countries, it has known turbulent and violent times. There have been periods of independence as well as periods of domination by other countries. In 1989 Poland became the first of the eastern European countries to overthrow Communist rule. Poland is slightly smaller then New Mexico but is home to over 38 million people, 95% of whom are Roman Catholic.

Stories

White as Snow

Just over a week ago we began our winter camp in Poland. As the campers arrived, I noticed that many of them were covered by the filth and grime of the world. Externally they looked like normal teenagers, but internally they were lost and in need of the Savior.

As the week progressed... read more

Discipleship Isn't Easy but It is Worth It!

Last week on Thursday I got to talk to Philip (15 year old in our youth group) and encourage him to read his Bible. For the previous 2 weeks, when asked about what he enjoyed from his Quiet Time, Philip said that he was just reading Psalm 119 but he did not remember what he learned. During our ... read more
